Managing the "Super Table"

Running a game for 4 - 5 players is pretty standard, but running for 7 is a marathon. Jacob’s secret to managing a large group is allowing players to roleplay through sub-channels. By allowing "table talk" in Discord while scenes are playing out, he ensuring no one 'checks out' while waiting for their turn in the spotlight.

Mythology Beyond the Books

Jacob has dug deep to create a Greek Pantheon themed homebrew world. His players aren't just adventurers; they are the offspring of deities like Gaia and Hades.

"I’m very scene-oriented... I think of fun little things to throw my players into and I like to see it happen." This philosophy recently paid off with a 15-session long "slow burn" reveal involving the Titan Atlas—a testament to the trust and patience he shares with his players.

The "Golden Rule" of the Table

The most important rule at the Dungeons & Dorms table is the Cool Down.

After every session, the cameras stop, the "character skins" come off, and the group talks face-to-face. This post-game aftercare ensures that no matter how intense the in-game drama gets, the real-world friendships stay intact.

Jacob’s Advice for New GMs

If you're thinking about streaming, Jacob says: Just do it. Even if you keep the videos unlisted, having a recording is the ultimate "cheat code" for GMs who hate taking notes. Plus, you might just find an audience that loves your world as much as you do.
